I am a Science Educator at the Science Museum of Western Virginia in Roanoke. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Virginia State Parks in the past as an Environmental Education Specialist at Grayson Highlands State Park and as a Park Interpreter at York River State Park. From the mountains to the rolling Piedmont to the estuary and coast Virginia State Parks hold a special place in my heart.

As a naturalist, educator, photographer, and writer I enjoy spending time outside and sharing knowledge and appreciation of our natural resources with others. Some of my favorite outdoor activities include backpacking, watching the seasons change, finding wildflowers, observing wildlife, mushroom hunting, kayaking, and stargazing.

From my roots growing up on a small farm to my journey as an environmental and science educator, my favorite habitat will forever be the outdoor, living classroom. I continue to learn from nature and look forward to each new outing like a homecoming of sorts. We are not apart from nature, but a part of nature.
